Drain Cover

There's a drain cover come slightly up on the pavement down the road. It has only raised half an inch but is still a potentual trip hazard. I will be mindful of this when walking that way.

Forgotten Yogurt

Found a raspberry twin pot yogurt at the back of my shelf in the fridge. It was hidden behind other stuff and I'd quite forgotten about it so it came as a nice surprise.

Remembered Sandwich

One of the girls that live here was making a packed lunch for tomorrow consisting of a tuna sandwich, a banana and a pot of instant porridge (just add hot water). When she had completed her preperations she put the pot and banana in a plastic bag to take up to her room and the sandwich into the fridge. When I enquired why she hadn't put the sandwich into the bag and then the whole packed lunch into the fridge ready for tomorrow she answered by saying that if she did that then she might forget to take it but with the plastic bag in her room as a reminder of the sandwich in the fridge then she wouldn't forget. Clever stuff I thought.

Bakers

I occassionally purchase a couple of cheese rolls and an iced finger from the bakers down the high road but even with this purchase of multiple items they do not give you a carrier bag to contain them conviently but expect you to purchase one for 5p. I wouldn't mind except the carrier bags on offer are not worth 5p being thin blue plastic affairs of little substance. So I always try to be mindful about taking my own carrier bag with me and this I find this course of action takes care of my carrying needs in this otherwise slightly inconvient situation to my satifaction. .

Bathmat

Never had a bathmat in my bath...never felt I needed one and nothing has ever happened to make me think otherwise.

Dinner

Couldn't decide what to have for dinner tonight so I went downstairs to see what was in the freezer and that helped inform my choices no end

Found an Umbrella on the seat of a Bus

I found a cheap black fold up umbrella on the seat of a bus today obviously accidently left behind by a former passenger. It's easily done especially with the fold up type of umbrella because they are smaller.I left the umbrella where I found it because I never use umbrellas myself.

Outnumbered cooker hood

A recent episode of the excellent BBC sitcom Outnumbered was on the televsion early and I noticed they had exactly the same model of cooker hood as we have in the kitchen.

Fork

Dropped a fork in the kitchen earlier, luckily it was an as yet unused fork so I could pick it up without worrying about having to clean up any mess caused.

Semi skimmed milk

Went down the local supmarket to buy some semi skimmed milk which has a green top...when I got home I realised I'd not been paying attention when I picked it up because I'd got full milk with a blue top by mistake.
Not a major problem but it would have been if I had got skimmed milk, red topped, because it tastes just like white water and is useless in tea. So a mistake but not the worst mistake in this situation but lesson learnt and  I will pay more attention next time I purchase some milk.

Reading Glasses Case

The inner lining of my reading glasses case has come adrift at one end causing a very slight inconvience when removing said reading glasses from the case but none when returning them to the case.

Drawing Pins

I never really understood why drawing pins are called drawing pins to be honest. Americans call them thumb tacks which makes more sense. Anyway while putting up a postcard of Ipswich town centre earlier, two of the cheap drawing pins I was using for this purpose bent and broke. Buying cheap drawing pins is a false economy I consider because this is not the first time this has happened.

hedge cutting

Walking down the road earlier I saw a woman cutting her hedge, it was only in passing and she had only just started. Returning a few hours later I saw the now trimmed hedge and it looked quite neat.

Elastic Band

Broke an elastic band trying to double it up round a rolled up laminated map of Norwich amd surrounding areas, possibly because I had over estimated the elasticity of the band or maybe because the band was quite old and a bit worn out. I suppose I will never know the reason for the breakage either way now.

Cake

Bought a Mr. Kipling Manor House cake yesterday and noticed when I came to take it out the box that one of the box corners was a bit dented. Fortunately the damage was mild enough not to impact on the condition of the cake within which was perfectly fine.
